April 5th was an important date in the Northern Dressage Groups calendar. Over 270 members and friends gather together for the clubs 5th Charity Ball at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel. The evening started with a drinks reception during which guests were entertained by a close up magician and saxophonist.
On entering the Ball Room each guest received a vanity bag containing perfume or after shave and various other items kindly donated by Lloyds Chemists.
After dinner everyone was encouraged by Mr Ron Pamplin, who with his wife Brenda organises and compares the event, to part with their money and bid for auction items. These included paintings by Di Breeze, Lydia Kiernan and Elizabeth Armstrong, lessonsat Damian Hallam’s Yard and BD Championship VIP tickets to name a few.
Everyone was then able to enjoy dancing until 2am when carriages collected the revellers!
The evening raised a staggering £7,811.50 which is shared between the North West Air Ambulance and NDG Training.
Brenda and Ron Pamplin hope to see everyone at the 2009 Ball and would like to extend a big thank you to all the sponsors and supporters who really help to make the NDG Ball a night to remember.
