BD Rule Changes

BD have announced some rule changes for 2011, to view these download the table of changes here >
For those of you that compete at affiliated competitions British Dressage are making some changes.
There is a change in the qualification for Summer or Winter Regional Championships. It will be through a points based system which will reward those consistently gaining good results rather than those winning small classes. It is felt that this will also encourage correct training and not emphasis on winning.
Riders and horses cannot compete at the Senior Inter Regional competition if they competed at the Winter Championships (including freestyle classes) or/and National Championships in the current or preceding year.
The Senior Inter Regional competition is designed for riders who are unlikely to achieve qualification for the winter and National Championships. It is felt that in the sporting spirit riders should not compete at both the Senior Inter Regional and the Winter/National Championships.
All horses competing at BD events must have a current vaccination certificate against equine influenza. This is to promote herd immunity within the UK and to work towards a disease free environment for 2012’.
